I disagree with this because I don't think teenagers should be forced to follow a ridged time schedule because of a curfew.
I disagree with this because I don't think teenagers should be forced to follow a ridged time schedule because of a curfew.Juvenile crime is a major problem in today's society, nevertheless it's one of the most Teen curfews discriminate against young minorities and violate the rights of minors, also I think that teen curfews confine all young teens based on actions of a small percentage of our population.
- Throughout the United States a question regarding teenagers is “Should there be a legal curfew for minors”.
Some parents agree that there should be, while others think otherwise.
Just because it's late at night doesn't mean a person is doing something illegal or commiting crimes.

Can youth curfews deter the amount of crimes committed within our societies?
Today, over 300 cities have adopted the curfew laws (NCPA). Studies have shown that there is no true link between juvenile crimes and curfews.Another downfall of curfews is that it violates teens' freedom. The curfews restrict the teens from several options (IDEA). If teens participate in these activities, they may violate their curfews. Some may argue that the irresponsible parents are treated for by the curfews, as their children are protected. They are limited by the restrictions that they have proved they do not need! Many public places such as the mall have banned children from hanging out after a certain time and I think the problem with this is where will it send the children.?If they can't go to the mall to "hangout" they are going to end up in a abounded place or basement somewhere drinking because there is nothing else to do.Many believe that the curfews train teens to become more responsible. However, the teens’ freedom is limited, as they are unable to participate in activities that occur during the curfew hours. However, the reduction is usually caused by other crime-preventing techniques, such as the zero-tolerance policy. In fact, studies have shown that the majority of juvenile crimes occur outside the regular curfew hours. These restrictions also interfere with the liberty of the teens. For example, several teens may have a part-time job, requiring them to "violate" their curfews. Therefore, I believe that youth curfews should not be enforced within our societies.
