Report Writing On Book Week In School-33
The Book Fair, in particular, has been incredibly popular and it has been lovely to see students getting genuinely excited about their books. It has really been enjoyable being stopped by some of our younger students to be told about their choice and when they are going to read it!

A BIG thank you to all parents who have given up their time to come in and read to the children, it has been a great experience for EIS students.

Teachers [email protected] Recent Readings Along with many other activities, two of our Secondary students video-interviewed some teachers about their recent readings.

The students then joined a whole school parade which took place on the big football pitch.

A good number of parents came along to join in the parade!

Our Middle School students too, have intrigued their teachers by choosing challenging literature in some cases, reflecting our love for reading at EIS.

A few exciting activities from our Book Week & Book Fair: Voluntary Poster Design Primary and Secondary students were busy even before Book Week began, designing posters based on our Book Week theme.

Thanks to Hye Jin and Sam for such excellent work and for being so well organised with everything. Character Dress-up Day To celebrate the end of Book Week, all students and staff were invited to dress up as their favourite Book Character on Friday, October 7th.

In the morning we had six face painters who offered face painting for children who wished.

Our goal is to inspire a love of books and story, as well as an appreciation of the creative process, in readers of all ages. It was easy to tell as all the kids kept very focused and listened well. We get the children to “read” their stories out loud but this is definitely something I will encourage our writers to do.

By introducing emerging and established Canadian children’s authors, illustrators and storytellers to audiences from coast-to-coast-to-coast we aspire to focus attention on the value of reading and writing, to help create an informed new generation of young Canadian readers and to encourage emerging young writers. I am always thrilled as a librarian to be able to facilitate our children meeting a “real LIVE author”! This showed them how to learn a story, tell it with expression and use facial expressions allowing them to entertain!!
